Lecky Photography Presents: Your Central Virginia Weekend Planner

Saturday

I am returning to the Arts in the Park show this weekend in Richmond’s Byrd Park, the scene of my inaugural art show one year ago. It’s a great show with a ton of great artists, and it looks like we’ll have some beautiful weather. So make your way to my booth via the Carillon (you can’t miss it), and I’ll direct you to the other booths you need to visit. This year my friends at Itty Bitty Press, Studio Eriksdotter, and Beth Sperlazza Pottery will all be there. For my part, my booth will be better than ever. I’ll have new work, larger pieces, smaller pieces, more pieces, and an improved display. You’ve gotta see it!

Saturday Night

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the official Lecky house cocktail: The Negra Modelo Shandy. Just pour a 12 oz bottle of Negra Modelo into a 1 pint mason jar and top with limeade. Then settle in for the 11:35 arrival of the Super Moon!

Sunday

Come back to Arts in the Park to see what you missed on Saturday. There will be corn dogs!

I hope to see you there!

Springtime in DC

March 20th, 2012 by Kenneth | No Comments | Filed in Photos

I was in DC over the weekend for a job that I’ll share here soon, and we wrapped up just in time for me to catch the sun setting over the Tidal Basin. In honor of the first day of spring and the 100th anniversary of the gift of the cherry trees from Japan, here’s a little trip into a spring evening in Washington. I’m pretty partial to a few of these, so don’t be surprised to see one or two at my upcoming art shows, which I’ll also be back to talk about soon. The third photo here was featured as the leading image in DCist’s roundup of weekend cherry blossom photos, so that’s fun!

Jym & Anna: Engaged!

February 17th, 2012 by Kenneth | No Comments | Filed in Photos

I had the pleasure of joining my friends Jym and Anna for a fun engagement session starting at their house in downtown Fredericksburg and continuing at the amazing farm where they’ll be married in June. Along the way we had faux seriousness, genuine goofiness, and a pitchfork. I can’t wait to be back for the wedding!

My Tiniest Fundraiser

December 30th, 2011 by Kenneth | No Comments | Filed in News, Photos

I am finally getting around to making official my little attempt to do some good with the above image. I took the photo at the 2009 presidential inauguration and have had it in my art collection since there was such a thing. I’m now pledging to give all profit from the image to DC Central Kitchen, a wonderful charity in Washington, DC. I currently have the image in my online store as an 8×10 archival print and a 5×7 postcard. I also have a framed copy available if you see me at a show or contact me directly.

But why stop there? Why not license it for your huge ad campaign? You’ll know that you helped a ton of people, plus you’ll get to promote that thing of yours! It’s a win-win-win-win-win.

Even if I don’t make much of a difference with this particular image, I’m excited about the idea and have more plans for the near future. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year! Thanks for a great 2011!

New to my online store: holiday cards! I’ve turned two of my favorite holiday images into lovely folded cards and bundled them in packs of ten for all of your winter well-wishing needs! The 5×7 cards are blank on the inside, have subtle text on the back identifying the image and my website, and include envelopes. After my recent shows in Richmond and Durham, I only have five of each set, so don’t delay!

As it is currently December 19th, let me know if you have any special shipping needs and I’ll do my best to work with you. Please visit my store for more images of the cards, and all my other products. Don’t forget that my crazy 20% off promotion is still running through the end of the year, so be sure to use the coupon code OutOfTown!

Holiday Shows

November 25th, 2011 by Kenneth | No Comments | Filed in News

I’ve got three exciting shows coming up in December! The first is on Sunday the 4th at The Bankuet Place in Richmond, Virginia and put on by aRtVA. The second is the Rock & Shop Market on Saturday the 17th all the way at the Motorco Music Hall in Durham, North Carolina. I’ll have more of my larger framed prints with me at both shows than I’ve had before, along with all my smaller prints and cards. I think there are some gift giving occasions coming up?

Lastly, for the whole month of December (or until they’re sold (fingers crossed)), I will have three framed pieces and ten unframed prints at the Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts’s Holiday Art Show & Sale.

Not going to be around for any of these shows but still want to get in on the action? Head to my online store and use the coupon code OutOfTown to get 20% off your order between now and say…the end of the year? Sure. Why not!

Fall Foliage Festival Wrap Up

October 12th, 2011 by Kenneth | No Comments | Filed in News

This is probably old news to anyone who follows me on Facebook, but I was awarded Second Place Photographer at this past weekend’s Virginia Fall Foliage Festival Art Show in Waynesboro, VA. I’m still wrapping my brain around that, so I’ll just say it was wonderful and surprising. Beyond that, thanks to everyone involved for a great show, especially everyone who came by my booth. I had more fun and engaged conversations with people there than I’ve had at any other venue. The level of artists was also as high as I’ve seen at a show. Any local fine art fans should definitely check it out next year. I hope to be there again, so I’ll of course let you all know the details if I get in. And to my fellow artists, the festival staff were incredibly generous. Be sure to visit the Shenandoah Valley Art Center next summer for an application.

I hope to have a few more shows lined up this year, and I’ll be sure to let you know the details here, on Facebook, on Twitter, and in an upcoming newsletter, whatever works for you. Why not try all of them?

Thanks again everyone!
